Dreams,

Drummed into the ears of children
from age three.
You grow up
to realize
that they are,
after all,
merely fairy tales.

Is a threat.
Crossing the material limits,
Is profanity.
The fusion of the Conscious and the Unconscious,
The Known and the Unknown,
The Heart and the Mind,
Is too much of a paradox.

With closed eyes,
or open,
you can’t let your heart wander.
It may go too far… Too out of control…
